Picton Rail Mechanical Depot

The Picton rail Mechanical depot and operations office constructed on the Eastern side of the Picton Rail yards of the Port Marlborough precinct in Picton. The buildings were to replace the existing rail mechanical facility and operations office, located on the Western side of the yards while also meeting the functional changes of the Rolling stock operations in the region

As part of the overall iReX project the redesign of the yards to meet the new operations of Kiwirail and Interislander prior to the new ferries arriving. The design phase and construction phase was managed by the McDonnell Green team, Design, resource and building. consent was undertaken by WSP across all packages. We engaged with CMT and Martinus to deliver the main construction packages across buildings and rail
